Since the beginning JIPITEC has been a European based academic peer reviewed journal. One of the main principles of JIPITEC is to gather editors which are responsible for their countries and for one edition in order to guarantee a balanced view on European intellectual property rights, E-Commerce, data protection, and IT-security, just to name a few of the topics which are dealt with by authors in JIPITEC. The editorial board now welcomes Prof.Chris Reed, BA (Keele), LL.M. (London) as a renowned representative of UK and expert in IT-law who will contribute to JIPITEC as one of the editors. Chris is a member of the Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS) and responsible for the University of London LL.M. courses in information technology law, Internet law, electronic banking law and telecommunications law. Chris has published widely on many aspects of computer law and research in which he was involved led to the EU directives on electronic signatures and on electronic commerce, recently in particular on cloud computing. The editors of JIPITEC warmly welcome Chris as a new editor on board, thus broadening the scope of the journal as one of the rare real academic open access and peer reviewed journals.
